Mia Lopez
Mia has a long career in education working in schools and educational nonprofit organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area, Chicago, and New Orleans. She started her career in the Bay Area as a first grade teacher fellow and recruiting teachers with the Multicultural Alliance before moving into program and operations roles. Before leaving the Bay Area she was a program manager at Mission Language and Vocational School in San Francisco. While in Chicago, Mia was the Director of Additional Learning Opportunities at the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago and the Director of Operations at Legacy Charter School. She is especially proud of the time she spent in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina opening a school in an area that was affected by flooding.
Mia has a BA in Ethnic Studies from UC Berkeley.
