Brooke Koka
Bula Vinaka,
My name is Brooke Eunice Andrews Koka. I was born and raised in the Fiji Islands until I was 17 years old and now live in the Bay Area with my husband and our beautiful daughters, Joanie, aged 5, and Robyn, aged 4. I studied Hospitality and Tourism at Cal State University East Bay and worked part-time as a nanny. My time as a nanny ignited a new passion for working with children, which I hope to pursue in the future. I love experiencing the world through their eyes and helping them tap into their creative nature through art and crafting. Currently, I am a stay-at-home mom, cherishing the time it gives me to engage in their school activities and projects.
My 4-year-old daughter has been diagnosed with Autism, and I am learning more about this condition and how to navigate life, as it is not something my culture has much experience or knowledge about. My aim is to spread more awareness and help find ways in which The Primary School can cater to and meet the needs of students with this type of disability.
I am grateful for this opportunity and look forward to what the future holds for TPS East Bay.
