Cristina Huezo
Cristina Huezo is the Vice President and Head of Community at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI). She currently leads the Community team at CZI, which is focused on increasing socioeconomic opportunity in local communities so that people can live, work, and thrive in California.
Cristina has worked in philanthropy, nonprofit advocacy, and government for over 20 years, with a focus on creating equitable opportunities for underserved populations. Her philanthropic experience includes the Gates Foundation and Deutsche Bank Americas Foundation. She began her career at the National Council of La Raza advocating on behalf of the Latinx community in California. Cristina is also the Chair of the Board for The Primary School - Bay Area, and the past Chair of the Board at Grantmakers for Education. She was an Education Pioneer and served as a Jessie M. Unruh Fellow in the California State Legislature.
Cristina holds a Masters in Public Policy and Nonprofit Management from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Arts in International Development and Business Administration from UCLA. She currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and three children, two dogs, and Lola the guinea pig.
