Jordan Miller
Jordan believes that it is our responsibility as humans to take care of one another and it is this belief that has led her on her journey to The Primary School.
Jordan joins The Primary School family after serving for three years as an outpatient mental health therapist in Illinois. Prior to her work as a therapist, Jordan worked on a crisis hotline, taught healthy relationship lessons in schools, and was a lead team member at an emergency respite child care center. Jordan earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Illinois: Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). Her clinical specialty is focused on youth who have experienced complex trauma. Jordan has been trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) and uses techniques from play therapy in her work with youth. Jordan is excited to infuse her clinical background and experience into her work at The Primary School.
At The Primary School, Jordan serves as the Manager of Behavioral Supports. In her role, Jordan assists students and teachers to work together to meet the student’s needs. She strives to bring the values of humility, hope, and courage into her practice with families and children, seeing herself as a perpetual learner and parents as experts of their children. Using these values, Jordan looks forward to exploring with families creative, yet realistic ways to offer their children extra support in a way that is complementary to a family’s culture, beliefs, and story.
